We were treated to wine, olive oil, proscutto, and biscotti after touring the winery. Our famed bus driver, Michele, is on Daniele's left. It is said that the Chianti region was formed by 2 neighboring towns quarreling over land. The dispute was settled by horse race. When the cock crowed a rider from each town raced toward the other town and the place where they met would be the new boarder. One town, wanting to give their rider an early start, starved their black rooster so it would crow earlier in the morning, which it did. Today, wine produced in this Chianti Region have a black cock on the neck of each bottle.
