The streets of Florence are full of people. Leather goods and gold are exceptional here. I purchased a wonderful black leather designer belt for 20,000 lira and on Ponte Vecchio (the old bridge) got a great 18K gold bracelet for 2,318,120 lira. Tourists do not have to pay the 19% tax on items over 500,000 lira. Whew!
